Chris Collins partnered with the management team at Buffalo China in March 2004 and formed Niagara Ceramics which purchased the assets of Buffalo China from Oneida, Ltd.
Oneida shut down Buffalo China, founded in 1901, and terminated all the employees. Niagara Ceramics reopened the factory and hired many ex-Buffalo China employees, as well as other workers, through a job fair conducted by the New York State Department of Labor.
Niagara Ceramics is a leading manufacturer of commercial dinnerware for many chain restaurants, country clubs, cruise lines and hotels across the United States. Niagara Ceramics has a 400,000 square foot factory located in a New York State Empire Zone in downtown Buffalo.
Chris Collins is co-founder, co-owner and Treasurer of Niagara Ceramics.
