Virionyx is an Auckland, New Zealand based company that has developed an entirely new class of HIV / AIDS drug therapy designated as HRG 214.
HRG 214 is a polyclonal antibody based passive immunotherapy that reacts in the human immune system to kill HIV and infected immune system CD 4 cells. HRG 214 is currently in Phase II FDA drug trials in the USA, supervised by Westat in Houston, TX.
The basic technology begins by injecting goats with a non-infectious HIV viral lysate produced by ZeptoMetrix. The goats produce high titer polyclonal antibodies that are harvested and purified at Virionyx state-of-the-art facility in New Zealand and then further processed into pharmaceutical grade immunotherapeutics for human treatment of AIDS.
Virionyx also has several other products in development for various human and animal ailments.
