Volland Electric was founded in 1943 by Alexander Volland.  The company was very successful  from 1943 through the 1990’s and was widely recognized as the premier electrical repair facility and electrical distributor in Western New York.

Western New York lost over 33 percent of its industrial base in the 1990’s which severely impacted Volland as sales declined, even though market share increased.

Chris Collins joined Volland in August 2001 and put together a strategy of growth through acquisition and new product focus.  Volland Electric is now a platform company focused on electrical and electronic repair, mechanical repair,  electrical distribution, crane and hoist repair and new systems integration, panel shop OEM manufacturing, equipment rental, scaffolding sales and rental, and distribution of industrial and contractor supplies.

Volland is a rollup of Volland Electric, Frontier Industrial Supply, Mead Supply, Land & Washburn Electric, and Electric Motor Service Company.

Volland is regularly listed as one of the Top 100 private companies in Western New York by Business First.  Volland has one facility in Cheektowaga, NY and another located in a New York State Empire Zone in downtown Buffalo.

Chris Collins is co-owner and Treasurer of Volland Electric.
